Once upon a time, a scorpion and a frog found themselves on the bank of a river. The scorpion wanted to cross but couldn't swim, so it asked the frog for a ride on its back. The frog hesitated and said, "But if I carry you on my back, you might sting me, and I would die."
The scorpion replied, "If I were to sting you, we would both drown. It wouldn't make sense for me to do that."
Convinced by this logic, the frog agreed and let the scorpion climb onto its back. They set off across the river, but halfway across, the scorpion stung the frog. As the venom paralyzed the frog and they both began to sink, the frog managed to gasp, "Why did you sting me? Now we will both drown."
